Someday have obvious alt-country leanings; Dedicated also has a fantastically dark Mazzy Star feel to it though and it’s certainly surprising and very welcome to hear some beautiful female vocals on an Irish record. Aside from the Tycho Brahe and Playground Psychotic, female vocals tend to be under-utilised by Irish bands, but fortunately Someday seem to have found themselves a very talented temptress in the form of Kathryn Williams.
Closing track Rooftops in the Rain is the highlight, and midway through it changes from a tightly knit understated lament to a delicately melodic, almost upbeat chorus as the male vocals (which incidentally could be used more generously perhaps, Someday seem to have stolen half the gifted vocalists in Ireland!) add balance to the warmth of Kathryn Williams’ voice. Someday might benefit from adding some different textures to the music at times, but otherwise Dedicated is a very promising single.

2/4/03 'Someday's new single Dedicated (Burundi Records) works in a similar way to the Delays single, in that it'd probably be very ordinary except for Kathryn Williams' subtle, pretty voice. Backed with some nice b-sides, particularly the lovely piano-led 'Eva', it's not quite going to set the world alight, but it's a promising sign of good things to come.'

1/4/03 'Dublin band Someday deliver something that the current Irish music scene needs badly: another talented female vocalist in Kathryn Williams. While "Dedicated" isn't going to be winging its way to the top of the charts quite yet, there's definitely a huge amount of potential within the band. The strong b-sides "Eva" and "Rooftops in the Rain" only add to their cause.'

3/11/02 Jackie Hayden from HotPress included Strawberries in Summer in his fortnightly Demo Dip. This is an excerpt from what he had to say:
"The attractive female voice has an expressive warmth. Some neat bass playing, thoughtful guitar"
6/2/02There is a review of a solo set by Ms. Kathryn Williams, performing at an Ill-Made Music night, available at Cluas. However, since it's author, a certain Mr. O'Brien, a fully accredited Cluas writer, has joined the band, it would, perhaps, be unsporting to post it on this site. However it must be pointed out that when he wrote the aforementioned review, he was not affiliated with the band, nor was the idea of becoming so affiliated in his or anyone's mind in any shape or form (LEGAL DISCLAIMER).
